49 Did you read comic books as a child? As a child I read illustrated books… Snow-White, Cinderella, Peter Pan… I began reading comic books, especially Mickey Mouse when I was 10-11 years old. Recently I remembered an episode that I found amusing: when I was 7 years old I got a book of Babar , and I found it really horrible. I hated the linear drawings, the simple forms and flat colours… Totally different from the other books I was used to. FACING PAGE: Young Garibaldi , liquid watercolour on board, 2007.
