This is the unique original Gouache painting by Belvision Studios (after Hergé). This is a framed hand painted animation Cel used in the original animated series
Les Aventures de Tintin / The Adventures of Tintin televised in the 1950s. Professeur Tournesol is also known as Professor Calculus.
The piece is accompanied by the original studio pencil drawing, made on rubber stamped animation paper which bears the film and sequence details.
The painting appears a few seconds past 9 minutes into the story
L'étoile Mystérieuse - a screenshot of the scene is shown in the pictures here for reference.
The animation Cel has been mounted in an elegant wooden box frame, set behind anti-reflective glass which also offers protection against UV rays. This frame acts as a great display cabinet which can either be hung on the wall or may stand alone.
When lit correctly, a shadow of the painting is projected against the back of the frame creating a dramatic effect.
This is a fantastic piece of Tintin memorabilia and ready for display. Dimensions given are for the frame.
