Giorgio told him that if every day for three years the grocer gave him bananas, the third year he would do a painting for him. The man handing the apple at the centre of the painting is the greengrocer, whose name was Nazareno. ABOVE: Epifania in Venezia , oil, 16” x 12”. There are two dates for this painting, probably with a revised version done later in 1993.
