137 RIGHT: Graeme's pencils with added tone, snow effects and indications for where the Commando logo will appear as well as the all-important spine around which the cover will be folded, allowing the artist an opportunity to offer a 'bonus' image to that which appears on the front. in this instance Graeme decided to show a view of the ruined city of Stalingrad—a central element of the story. BELOW: A colour rough was supplied to the editorial team which was created by scanning in the pencils and adding colour digitally using Photoshop. This gave the team at Commando HQ a much clearer idea of how the cover would appear in print.
