94 Amongst the UK talent that DC recruited was Scottish writer Grant Morrison who would achieve fame with such projects as Batman - Arkham Asylum. The first idea he pitched to DC/ Vertigo was reviving one of their more obscure characters—Animal Man. Under Morrison's stewardship the series proved a hit and although art chores were undertaken by a succession of talents it was Brian Bolland who provided point of sales visual continuity with a series of covers that matched Morrison's scripts in terms of inventiveness and black humour.
