83 Back in the mid-seventies, leading American illustrator Bernie Fuchs had been producing illustrations for Brennans, a famous old restaurant on Royale Street, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The illustrations were mainly drawings of the three brothers and their mother who owned the restaurant, which were reproduced in newspapers, and local magazines. Fuchs extended the series to include staff members, including the chef and the head waiter, and then BELOW: Ferdinand ‘Jelly Roll’ Morton and girls. BOTTOM: The ‘Euraka Brass Band’, one of the famous bands forming a ubiquitous funeral procession.
