78 Art Frahm died in 1981 at Fountain Inn in North Carolina. He’s best remembered nowadays for his paintings of ‘women in distress’ that have been mentioned in various blogs during this century, usually in a derisive manner or categorizing him as a ‘sexist’ artist. Whatever you may think of his work, he knew how to paint, and most probably had much fun doing so. And what’s wrong with that? l ABOVE: Remember all the Safety Rules , oil on canvas. The perspective here isn’t right, but adds to the chaos of what a classroom looks like. Notice how the light from outside reflects on the desktops. Could a painter with no artistic knowledge really do something like that?
