Between the years of 1990 and 1996, while working on other projects, he also found time to write and illustrate the 500-page graphic novel ‘Cages’, which eventually won him the Harvey Award for Best new comic and Best graphic novel, as well as other international awards. The year 1995 would also see him produce the image to launch the Sony Playstation , and in 1996 he was one of the four photographers chosen by Kodak and Saatchi ’s to launch their new colour film. His interest in combining photography and illustration to create surrealistic, dream-like images, led him to produce many advertisement campaigns, and editorial contributions to magazines such as the New Yorker and Playboy , among others. He did promotional work for the films Blade , Alien Resurrection , The King is Alive , Dust and Sleepy Hollow . He was also one of the concept designers for the second and third Harry Potter films, did the title sequence for the 1996 TV mini-series Neverwhere (written by his friend Neil Gaiman), and created characters and designs for Lars von Trier’s interactive Copenhagen project House of Zoon .
