Formerly ran the most vicious and dangerous mob in Britain until sent to prison for fifteen years by Inspector Brook and his assistant Sergeant Sutton, where he died. Only seen in portrait. AQUINO, Max STORY 15: “THE RED GRYPHON”: STRIP 1690 Venetian architect friend of Modesty and another of her occasional bedfellows. In charge of restoring the Palazzo Belcari, recently sold by Count Alborini, who has since learned that it contains a hidden treasure. When he turns down the Count’s offer to buy back the palazzo the Count has him murdered. When his body is found (Strip 1720A Glasgow only), it is Modesty who identifies it. ASADA STORY 18: “THE WAR-LORDS OF PHOENIX” STRIP 2048 Young member of Phoenix, engaged to Kimi, the granddaughter of Kazumi, an old friend of Modesty and Willie. When Kimi accidentally discovers Asada’s Phoenix connection he tries to kill her. ASLAK STORY 31: “CRY WOLF”: STRIP 3584 The Lapp herdsman in the same group as Professor Lambert who tells Modesty and Willie about the dangerous Chudi Gap shortcut. There are three brothers, one of whom is not named. Rosa is the fourth member of the troupe.
