Pleased to see his boss back from riding as he has to report that his two guests, Modesty and Willie, appear to be trying to kill each other in the pool. When he asks what Dall is going to do about it, he is told “Have a cool drink” SAMANTHA STORY 35: “THE INCA TRAIL” TEXT ONLY STRIP 3961A Code name used by Modesty and Willie when faced with a situation in which they want to “play for time”. Used by Willie when he is captured by Colonel Zamora, accused of being a spy and forced to talk to Modesty on the radio. SAMMY (1) STORY 26 “THE GALLOWS BIRD” STRIP 2974 A member of General Laporte’s gang. He is one of the four men hunting Paul Verne in the docks of New Orleans and it is he who finally catches and overpowers Verne. This enables Querol to take him to the crane jib and hang him, in accordance with Blanche Laporte’s instructions. SAMMY (2) STORY 53: “THE ALTERNATIVE MAN”: STRIP 5799 Member of the drug smuggling gang supervised by Roqua. When the plane crashes on take off he is one of the men who unloads the drugs and carries them to the ship. He is named but not specifically identified. SANCHES STORY 20: “THE GREEN EYED MONSTER” STRIP 2332 One of the three man execution team about to present Diana Millard to a very hungry anaconda and then film what follows. Even his comrades in the camera crew are a wee bit doubtful about the sheer horror of what they are about to do. It is lucky for Diana that she has friends on hand who will save her. SANDHAM STORY 13: “BAD SUKI” TEXT ONLY STRIP 1463 Owner of a London gambling club who asks Willie to please play his cards somewhere else. Suggests the club owned by Benny Bennet, one of his competitors. SANDHAM, Ray STORY 78: “THE GRIM JOKER”: STRIP 8305 Outside broadcast television interviewer and old friend of Modesty and Willie. After the murder of Simon Colby they ask him to set up an interview on T.V. with Willie who insults and belittles The Grim Joker live on camera, hoping to draw them into trying to murder him. He does a first class job in a way that makes it all appear to be very natural. The result is that it enrages The Grim Joker into doing almost exactly what Modesty and Willie hoped. SANDOR (1) STORY 31: “CRY WOLF” STRIP 3609 One of the two killers employed by Gautz and hired by the K.G.B. to kidnap Professor Ambrose Lambert. Keeps the Professor and his wife Anna covered while Gautz fights with Modesty. Just when he thinks Gautz is going to win he is knocked out and tied up by Willie. When he comes round he finds Gautz is dead and Modesty and Willie are about to leave with the Professor and Anna. Before they go he is turned loose for a very long walk home. SANDOR (2) STORY 60: “THE DOUBLE AGENT”: STRIP 6431 Member of Hakil’s Beta Team sent to murder Willie to stop him interfering with the Alpha Team which is attempting to murder Sir Gerald Tarrant. Pretends to be in an insulin coma but when Willie throws a glass of water over him he makes an instant recovery. Put into a real coma when Willie hits him.
