Found and hid the cargo of base morphine from the plane belonging to The Junk Men that crashed close to the village. Tortured by Hoca’s men, he reveals the location of the drugs and is left by them for dead. Found by Modesty and Willie he gives them a map of the hiding place before he dies. ALI (2) STORY 59: “KALI’S DISCIPLES” STRIP 6394 Indian member of Kali’s Disciples. Seen here being put out of action by a stone from Willie’s slingshot. ALI (3) STORY 84: “HONEYGUN” STRIP 8909 Bellboy at the Hotel Zerna. He leads Modesty into the trap set for her by Kiffis. who was Honeygun’s employer at that time. Seen in flashback. ALIKI STORY 93: “THE LAST ARISTOCRAT” STRIP 9866 With Modesty and Willie on the yacht lent to them by Phil Krolli anchored off Corfu. Willie says she comes with the yacht. Seen here serving tea to them and their guest, Sir Gerald Tarrrant. AMANDA (1) STORY 57: “THE SWORD OF THE BRUCE” STRIP 6132 A girl who was going to be taken to Paris by Willie but was stood up when Modesty had an accident and called him. Looking not unreasonably peeved, she is going to form an association of girls stood up by Willie for Modesty. AMANDA (2) STORY 53: “THE ALTERNATIVE MAN” TEXT ONLY STRIP 5770 According to Willie, one of his four wives. Used to explain why he unfortunately has no alternative but to refuse when Lois Denton suggests marriage. AMEERA STORY 70: “FIONA”: STRIP 7458 A nurse in the hospital at Tanarachi. AMUN STORY 88: “TRIBUTE OF THE PHAROAH” STRIP 9325 Egyptian God, the creator, worshipped in the Kingdom of Kush and by King Taharqa in particular. His statue in Taharqa’s tomb is the source of Modesty’s nightmare and the cause of Murad’s death. Thanks to the ability of Miss Prendergast to translate Kushite hieroglyphic tablets the statue is also a valuable acquisition for the Sudanese Archaeological Society. ANCORN, R. J. STORY 57: “THE SWORD OF THE BRUCE”: STRIP 6154A Solicitor and executor of the will of Hamish McFee under which Jennie Dunbar (née McFee) can inherit a large fortune. Conned by The Rev. William Garvin into being allowed to be the official invigilator on the journey Jennie must undertake in order to gain her inheritance so that Willie can protect Jennie from Marcus and his gang. At the end of the journey he declares Jennie sole heir. ANDRE STORY 11: “THE MAGNIFIED MAN” STRIP 1244 One of Herr Bilke’s gang. He is ordered to kill Lysette (the alias being used by Denise Rouelle, a secret agent infiltrated into Bilke’s gang by Vaubois). He tries to kill her but fails and is shortly thereafter killed by Modesty. ANDRES STORY 50 “A FEW FLOWERS FOR THE COLONEL” STRIP 5514A Border guard at the river crossing in to Palmadoro. He lends Willie his rifle to enable him to go to the aid of Modesty who is holding off El Toro at the pass. Also happens to be a cousin of the de Larra’s. ANDRI STORY 77: “BLACK QUEEN’S PAWN” STRIP 8201 The daughter of Chakota and Nanika in the village of Mandofo on Madagascar.
