Uses Phil and Melinda Krolli as levers. Modesty cons him into taking her to bed in order to enable her to get a radio message to Willie via Weng. When he tries to stop Modesty escaping she shoots down his helicopter. PLUTO STORY 45 “DOSSIER ON PLUTO” STRIP 4933 One of the four dolphins being studied by Steve Taylor and it would appear the most intelligent. Plays jokes on Taylor and treats Modesty as a personal toy. Signals the return of Gaspar’s ship and tows Modesty out to it. POMPATIKA STORY 77: “BLACK QUEEN’S PAWN” TEXT ONLY STRIP 8274 Blacksmith in the Madagascar village of Mandofo. Provides the shackles to secure Salim, Koch and his gang when they are captured by Modesty and Willie. POP STORY 41: “YELLOWSTONE BOOTY” STRIP 4552A An elderly cowboy on John Dall’s ranch near Amarillo, Texas. Asks Modesty for a dance at the hoe down. His boss looses his partner and gets joshed for it by one of his other cowboys, Hank, who also gets to dance with her. PORKY (1) STORY 52 “DEATH IN SLOW MOTION” STRIP 5677 One of the thugs sent to beat up Molly Tagg after she had been sacked by Cyrena Aquilina. He was going to use a knuckle duster on Molly and is very seriously discouraged by Willie from ever using one again. PORKY (2) One of the boys in the martial arts class at St. Swithun’s Youth Club. STORY 64: “SAMANTHA AND THE CHERUB” STRIP 6831 When Sam arranges a visit to the club by Willie and threatens anyone who mucks about he makes a modest challenge to Sam’s leadership but quickly backs down. STORY 74: “IVORY DANCER” STRIP 7855 Gets a clip around the ear from Sam when he happens to mention that he is glad Modesty is coming to the club because he really fancies her. PORTER, Miss Gertrude (alias Bad Suki) STORY 13: “BAD SUKI” STRIP 1479 Self styled as just a foolish old spinster trying to help poor lost souls to turn aside from the terrible ways of wickedness. Known in all the swinging clubs as Good Gertie she uses her “Book of Shining Thoughts” as a cover for the sale and distribution of drugs. Her pose completely fools Modesty and Willie to the extent that they ask her to help them in their search for the drug dealer. Lures them to her base of operations in the West Country by telling them about the imminent arrival of a large drug shipment and captures them. Sends them to what she believes will be their deaths in the submersible container which brought in her drugs. Devastated when her plan fails. PORTILLO, Dr. STORY 50: “A FEW FLOWERS FOR THE COLONEL” STRIP 5438 Doctor in the remote South American village of San Pedro where Fernando de Larra and his family live. He is the first to greet Modesty and Willie when they land, having had to parachute into the village to answer Fernando’s call for help.
