Claims to be one hundred and twenty seven years old but Willie thinks he is at least a hundred and fifty. Says little and explains nothing, his teachings are somehow imparted. Is able to extend his visual awareness beyond the bounds of physical location at will. Modesty spent time with him and absorbed something of the paths by which the unconscious body processes can be subjected to the will of the mind. Later Modesty sends Willie to spend two months with him. Establishes mental tokens for his pupils upon which they can focus to enable them to achieve calm and control. Willie’s tokens are the pebble, the feather and the twig. Both Modesty and Willie practice his teachings regularly. The knowledge they have absorbed from him has saved both their lives on a number of occasions. First created in the 1971 novel “The Impossible Virgin” he has been referred to regularly since then. Initiated into sex by Nannie when he reached his fourteenth birthday and now shares her with his brother on a rota basis. Taught martial arts and killing skills he is currently trained by Little Krell. With Dominic is half of the composite criminal entity known as El Mico. Kills Bernard Martel with a napalm flame thrower. El Mico captures Modesty and Willie and takes them to Xanadu. Fights Modesty in the Pit only to be humiliatingly beaten. Finally faces Modesty and Willie in the battle of Alãeddin’s cave. SILK, Dominic “THE XANADU TALISMAN” P 37 Younger brother of Jeremy and made aware of it. Brought up by Nannie Prendergast after their parents were killed in an air crash. Like his brother he was initiated into sex by Nannie when he reached his fourteenth birthday and now shares her with him on a rota basis. SIN, Tan “DRAGON’S CLAW” P 7 One of the permanent guards on Dragon’s Claw. Is obliged to crawl a hundred yards on his belly to avoid being shot by Willie using the Goff laser sight rifle. Killed by Clarissa de Courtney-Scott in the final clear up massacre. SINCLAIR, Mr. “LAST DAY IN LIMBO” P 185 He is Miss Benita’s secretary in Limbo. An Englishman, he handles all administration. Always carries a riding crop. Takes nasty advantage of Modesty just after she has been subjected to a session with Damion and Paxero. In the final battle he reports to Paxero that the big helicopter is coming in with reinforcements but is killed by one of Willie’s grenades before they arrive. SINGERMAN “MODESTY BLAISE” P 47 Amsterdam contact of Gabriel’s paid a retainer for services in connection with the theft of Abu Tahir’s diamonds. SIV “LAST DAY IN LIMBO” P 89 Swedish girlfriend of Willie’s who he met in Florida. She wrestled alligators and he sometimes suffered from bruised ribs when she was feeling particularly romantic.
