These are the Signed unique original Gouache paintings by Oliver Frey.

This hand painted full colour illustration board was published in 'The Digger', a Trigan Empire strip published between July and September 1977. Oliver Frey's incredibly dynamic action-packed painting style worked brilliantly for this strip. The artist's graphic depiction of monsters, robots, vile enemies, explosions and burning cities gave The Trigan Empire a more graphic style and a new lease of life.

Frey also laid out his panels in a more powerful way than his predecessors, using incredible layout techniques including overlays, diagonal cuts, lightening bolt separations and jagged cut-ins which shadow and accentuate the action in the panels.

The powerful storylines paired with Oliver Frey's mastery of the human figure and bold colour techniques, etches a special place for these boards in the history of The Trigan Empire.

This is a rare chance to own a special piece of original British comic art history.
