This is the unique original Gouache painting by Neville Dear.

A Paratrooper dressed as they were when the fought as part of the D-Day invasion of World War II. His full uniform and equipment includes the parachute, a small first aid kit pinned to his camouflaged helmet, a sten gun in two pieces, strapped to his chest, and a Bren gun.

Scarce early Look and Learn art. This example, part of a series called Badges of Courage, was published in issue 137, 29th August 1964.
